Illuminous Love

2003 4 track demo. Ian Brown, drums:

Bob: God, what could I say about this tune? A silly little love ditty written in high school... I've been playing this so long I could probably play it dead, in my coffin... hell, I could play it cremated in an urn. Words by Glenn Anderson, jotted down on a scrap of paper in my basement in fifteen minutes or so, and a couple of simple riffs by Dion Schofield, who was, in the best Jimmy Page tradition, creative but sloppy. All I've really contributed to this tune is the ploddy bass line and the solo section, which haven't changed much since I wrote them some twenty-five years ago.

Ben: Soda pop, Providence style. Note the latino influences here and there. I didn't want to use cookie-cutter drummings in a straight forward pop song.

Waiting on the corner,
You and your friends around,
That gentle mystique,
The lightning love we've found.
Cold shivers run down me,
Like a cold knife in a warm spot,
It's so eerie,
I'm catchin' fire, it's so hot.

Illuminous Love,
Crystal lights are shining,
Illuminous Love,
Love finding timing.

Some thing in the air that night,
Feeling waves of passion,
It's just come together,
It has finally happened.
No questioning the feeling,
That awesome spell of magic,
Could it be good or could it be bad,
There's a surge of static.

Solo

Illuminous Love,
Crystal lights are shining,
Illuminous Love,
Love finding timing.
Illuminous Love,
Crystal lights are shining,
Illuminous Love,
Love finding timing, shining.
